Family photography is extremely close to my heart. With two littles at home, I realize how fast they grow up and how fleeting these times can be. I take joy in knowing that the images I capture for my clients will forever preserve this special time of life in their hearts.

With Banff National Park being one of the most scenic places in the world, it's not a surprise that people want to transform their special moments here into memories that will last a lifetime.
Some of my favourite spots for family photos in the Rockies are Lake Minnewanka, Rundle Forebay Reservoir, Quarry Lake, the Three Sisters Viewpoint, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Peyto Lake, Emerald Lake and so many more.

LAKE MINNEWANKA
family session
Lake Minnewanka is a beautiful lake surrounded with amazing mountains and is located only 30 minutes away from Canmore and only 10 minutes away from Banff. This lake is not as well known to the tourists who come here for holidays and as such, this lake offers way more privacy than the more popular lakes like Lake Louise or Moraine Lake. It's not nearly as hard to find parking at Lake Minnewanka, especially early in the morning and later in the evening. This lakes offer variety for your photos such as rocky hills and docks with boats, and lots of room to run around, which is especially convenient for families with busy little kiddos who are hoping for candid family photos.
If you are having your photos taken in Banff, I would highly recommend considering Lake Minnewanka as the location for your photos- you won't regret it!
