Intimate Elopement in Canmore, Riverside Park

January 7th, 2024

Bride and groom for their bridal portraits at Riverside Park, Canmore

Ana and Sly planned their beautiful elopement just a few weeks before the big day, and were determined to get married outside in Canmore, despite it being in January. It was a COLD day (-14C to be exact) but these two were going to get married and have the best day no matter the temperature outside. I was there to capture their ceremony and some bridal portraits and to say we were lucky with the weather would be an understatement!

The whole morning it was fully overcast, windy, and you could not see any mountains whatsoever. 30 minutes before the ceremony, the sky cleared just enough to get a little bit of sunshine and to see Rundle Mountain through a beautiful and subtle haze.

Right after the ceremony, Sly and Ana braved the cold weather for a little longer and we took some bridal portraits for them right at Riverside Park. Riverside Park is one of the three ceremony locations couples can actually book through the town of Canmore. This beautiful wedding ceremony was held by Dr. Cheryl Cooper from Canmore Commissioner at https://canmorecommissioner.ca. The gorgeous arch that made such a wonderful centrepiece for the ceremony was rented from Urbana Group at https://www.theurbanagroup.com.
