Spring Couples Session in Canmore

April 5, 2024

Tory and Jonathon traveled to Canmore and Banff for a week during their spring break as Tory is a teacher. This was both of their first times in the area, and they wanted to remember this special trip by doing a spring couples photo session in Canmore. Now they don't only have their memories to take home with them, but also some professional photographs!

Tory and Jonathon travelled all the way from Georgia and they got treated with some beautiful spring weather for the first couple of days of their stay, and then also with some fresh snowfall to end their trip. Living in a place where they don't see snow, having this fresh blanket of snow for their photo session was very special.

For their couples session, we decided to visit Rundle Forebay Reservoir in Canmore as this location offers breathtaking mountain views of Mount Lawrence Grassi and this reservoir was the only location in the area that had at least partially melted. With the combination of the fresh snow, the blue water made for some really unique images!

This session is a perfect example of how unpredictable the weather can be in the mountains. When you visit in April, the spring could be in full force, or you can come to a winter wonderland. In Tory and Jonathon's case, it was both!

That being said, no matter the season or weather conditions you come for, the mountains and the natural beauty here will always take your breath away!
